Black Knight Buccaneers History

Black Knight Buccaneers represents the EVE-Online arm of the Black Knight Brigade MMPOG community (www.bkbhq.com).

Originally, in 2004 players from BKB who had met in other games (World War II Online primarily) discovered that many of them had also started playing EVE Online at a similar time or intended to start playing. Initially these players (new and more experienced alike) joined a corporation that one of them had already started, Interstellar Trading Corporation (ISTC) which grew from recruiting friends and other BKB members from other games.

ISTC soon established itself in the “North” of the EVE Universe, becoming a member of the NORAD alliance based in Outer Ring, thanks to strong links with one of the executor corporations of this alliance, Dreamscape (a bond which remains strong to this day).

After a few months of relative peace war came to Outer Ring in the overwhelming shape of Supremacy, RONA-KIA and VOTF (displaced ex Curse Alliance residents) who would later become known as Imperium. NORAD did not fare well in this war, and to all intents and purposes disbanded shortly thereafter.

After a sojourn in Empire and a break for many of its members for a few months, ISTC returned to 0.0 space, taking up residency in Fade under the protection of [G]. Whilst there, for mutual defence reasons, ISTC and other corps saw the need to band together as an alliance entity in their own right and joined a newly established alliance with these aims, The Rock.

Unfortunately the reality of this alliance was not as advertised, it was run as a pure dictatorship so many corps decided to leave again. This was not all bad news, however, as we had met new people and forged closer links with other corps in the area, notably Maple Leaf (later ATROX.) and Red Monkey Faction among others.

It was decided that we should form our own regional defence alliance which would live up to the aims we all believed in and so Sparta Alliance was first formed. Sparta went from strength to strength and eventually moved to Deklein taking control of CZD station and building the UEJ outpost. Other corporations such as The Ghost Riders (VTS) joined the alliance at this time.

Eventually thanks to real-life issues meaning the absences of the alliance executors, the alliance was effectively sabotaged and forced to disband.

At this point ISTC joined Chorus of Dawn alliance with the aim of toughening up their pvp backbone and moved to Venal while looking for a more permanent move which soon appeared in the form of Center for Disease Creation based in Vale of the Silent.

At around this time it was becoming more apparent that members of the Ghost Riders, ISTC, and Red Monkey Faction were effectively working as one unit, and we decided to merge the corporations into one under the new name Black Knight Buccaneers (BKB). Many of the members were, by now, reaching the stage of being capital ship pilots, and we were nearly all veteran pvpers, so we had a successful period in Vale.

Eventually however, CDC fractured internally and again we were left looking for a new home for our pilots and ships.

Sparta had been reborn shortly before this internal fracture, and it was an easy step for us to rejoin old friends for some epic fights in Fountain, Fade and Deklein against BoB and their allies, before Sparta became isolated when allies left the area or were defeated. Following attacks by former allies, Morsus Mihi and Razor, Sparta were left little alternative but to seek relations with our former enemies, and now neighbours. Then when threatened with further war by YouWhat and with little ability to wage it after the losses in the BoB war Sparta merged into Fallen Souls. This again eventually became an untenable situation for us, due to differences in attitude and outlook, and BKB is once again a nomadic corporation, looking for a home, but with a wealth of experience within it.

It’s been a roller-coaster 3 years in EVE, so full of triumphs, trials, and disasters, it feels like 20!
